On today's episode of The Flourishing Therapreneur we are joined by Liz Gray, LCSW, RPT, Clini-Coach®, and Founder of Organize and Thrive.
This episode is for you if you are:
- A Highly Sensitive Therapist (HST) (or think you might be!)
- Constantly fighting physical, digital, or emotional clutter
- Struggling to run your private therapy practice in an efficient manner
- And hungry for organization and systems to make your work more efficient, saving you time and energy!
I loved sitting down with Liz to chat about how Highly Sensitive Therapists (HST) navigate private practice and overcome barriers we face in our field. We dove into how various kinds of clutter (digital, physical, and emotional) can affect each of us, as well as how this shows up in our professional and personal lives. We acknowledged the shame and isolation that often accompanies clutter, and got a taste for how systems can make things sooo much easier going forward. S.Y.S.T.E.M.S.: the invisible string making things run smoothly–saving us time and energy!

On today's episode of The Flourishing Therapreneur we are joined by Alyssa Callahan, MS, RDN with Nourished with Kindness. You might be wondering — why is a dietician on today’s podcast? One of the core beliefs for The Flourishing Therapreneur is learning from other business owners + professionals — if we only focus on what works for therapists, it’s often a disadvantage because as therapists we are still evolving, growing and learning. To put it bluntly — as business owners there’s a lot we don’t know. By leaning into other professionals paralells, practices and business structures we can continue to flourish and expand our offerings.
During this episode we cover:
- Leaning into the philosophy that everything is figure-outable — as a business owner you can continue to evolve, learn, make mistakes and improve your offerings
- You don’t know what you don’t know — and why it’s important to have mentors, supervision and business support as you grow your endeavors
- How to take strategic steps during your schooling and clinical hours to specialize and gain additional qualifications
- The evolution of building an insurance based practice
- How to expand your private practice into a group practice - covering concepts of payroll, offering your employees insurance and other benefits
- The in’s and outs of developing a sustainable business model to hire employees and still make a profit
- Applying profit first philosophy into your business model
- How the fear of doing it wrong can paralyze you into not doing it at all
- Being brave, not perfect in businesss
- All about Alyssa’s journey to building a successful group practice as a dietician
